Clarsach Society Young Composer Award

The The Clarsach Society are pleased to announce the details of the sixth Young Composer Award. Composers aged between 16-25 years of age are invited to present an orginal piece of music suitable for solo clarsach, or clarsach and up to three other instruments and/or voices. It is not necessary for the composer to be a clarsach player. Deadline: 28 November 2014. The winning work will premiere at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival in 2015 and receive £500 in prize money...

HARP OPEN DAY - Royal Academy of Music/London

Hosted by Head of Harp Karen Vaughan and including a recital by 2014 graduating students, discussion with members of harp staff and jazz class. Exhibition of music and accessories by the department's main sponsors, Holywell Music. The day ends with a 6.00pm recital by Park Stickney in the David Josefowitz Recital Hall, followed by a reception.
