2 - HARP ENSEMBLE WORKSHOP
From 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This is a fun opportunity to meet and play with other harpists in an
afternoon ensemble workshop suitable for adults and children who are of
beginners and intermediate standards.
The workshop will be focused on some technique tips, playing together
and preparation of ensemble pieces for an informal concert at 4:30 open
for friends and family.
Some music will be sent you in advance. Book early to avoid
disappointment. Fees: £ 30

Mike is a harpist and musicologist who originally studied instrument
building at the London College of Furniture, building and restoring
“early” and folk harps. He is the only Englishman to have been awarded
the Olamh Sui (Doctorate) by the Institute of Traditional Celtic Music,
awarded for his work relating to the historic usage of the harp in the
Celtic nations. Mike researches all aspects of the historical harp and
modern folk music and is Head of Strings in the Junior Department of the
London College of Music and Media (Thames Valley University) Mike
co-ordinated the Single Action Harp Symposium in 2004 and he is the
President of the Historical Harp Society.
