Tara Minton: concert and workshop at the Cambridge Jazz Festival

  • 28 Nov 2015
  • Clare College, Cambridge

Both at Clare College, the workshop will run from 2PM-5PM in the Garden room, Memorial Court. At 9:30PM, Tara’s quintet will play in the Clare College cellars. In between the workshop and concert we will hold a special harp exhibition accompanied by a cheese and wine reception (from 7PM).

The workshop is open to lever and pedal harpists of all ages and stages. The first half will be about getting started with jazz on the harp; the second half will explore composition, amplification and maybe even writing a song together! Last, but not least, PARKING IS PROVIDED! for all workshop participants. It is also possible to borrow a harp from us for the workshop (subject to reservation).

For workshop bookings and harp reservations, please contact Elen Vining at Telynau Vining Harps:info@camacharps.co.uk. Participation in the workshop is free of charge; concert tickets are £5, or included in your workshop place.

Tara trained classically on harp, but her passion for jazz has lead her to become one of the leading contemporary harpists in Europe. She has played some of London's best clubs including the Pizza Express Soho, Ronnie Scott's Upstairs, the Pheasantry, Jamboree, Le QuecumBar, Mark's Club, Annabel's, the St Pancras Old Church and the Ashtead Jazz Club, as well as running a weekly session at the Boogaloo in Highgate every Sunday.
