Workshop with Lily Neill

  • 19 May 2018
  • 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Quaker Meeting House, 71 Chapel Hill, Stansted Mountfitchet, CM24 8AE

This workshop is geared toward players who have at least a couple of years of experience and wish to hone their playing skills with an in-depth session, focusing on new arrangements and technique.  The workshop will be taught both “by ear” and via sheet music, which will be sent to players a month in advance of the workshop.  There’s no need to memorize or have the material “listener ready” however it would be good to familiarize yourself with different versions of the music on the Internet (Youtube, etc.).

The material covered will be of varying genres, from popular music from the turn of the century to early music classics and traditional folk tunes.  We’ll also delve into several different harp techniques, such as creating seamless accidentals, dampening, manipulating tone, and more.

*Participants can feel free to request music ahead of the workshop if there are particular pieces or genres they wish to explore*
Booking Information:
The course fee is £50.00 and includes all music.  Lunch can be pre-booked and is not included in the course fee.
